ISU basketball signs new recruits for 2009

With the NCAA early-signing period underway, Illinois State basketball has added a list of new players to their programs, as announced by men's coach Tim Jankovich and women's coach Robin Pingeton.

A total of six National Letters of Intent signed.

The Redbird men's basketball team added two Chicago natives with Terrence Johnson of North Lawndale College Prep and Zeke Upshaw of University High School in Chicago.

"Both Terrence and Zeke are outstanding young men and tremendous students," Jankovich said.

The women's basketball team added four players to the program.

Megan Grace of St. Joseph's Academy in St. Louis, Alexis Jenkins of University High School in Chicago, Brooke Owens of Vincennes Lincoln High School and Jaylynn Stewart of Taylorville High School will join the 'Birds.

"We are excited to have Megan, Alexis, Brooke, and Jaylynn joining our women's basketball family," Pingeton said.
