Bloomington police have made an arrest in connection to 26-year-old Joshua Embry's death.
Joshua Anderson McGuire, 22, was taken into custody in the afternoon of Nov. 20 from his residence on the 900-block of South Adelaide St. in Normal.
After being stabbed in the chest on the 500-block of North Center Street in Bloomington, Embry was pronounced dead the morning of Nov. 16.
Bloomington Police said dozens of people were interviewed in relation to Embry's death.
"There were a lot of people we interviewed after the stabbing," Duane L. Moss, media relations specialist for the Bloomington Police Department, said. "[McGuire] was one of them early on."
"They put two and two together and it led back to him. They put a case together and made an arrest."
No one else is expected to be arrested in connection to Embry's death, Moss said in previous reports, but there could be more arrests made in relation to the brawl that occurred outside Six Strings Club on the night of the stabbing.
Moss could not give details on why the police were led to McGuire, just that he was questioned and "there were witnesses who probably saw him stab Embry."
The U.S. Marshal's Great Lakes Regional Violent Fugitive Task Force took McGuire into custody without confrontation. Although it is not clear exactly how the FBI assisted in the investigation, Moss said they provided expertise.
"[McGuire] has been charged with three counts of first degree murder in the death of Embry," McLean County First Assistant State's Attorney Kim Campbell said.
According to the McLean County Circuit Court, McGuire's arraignment is set for Dec. 5 at 9 a.m. There is not currently a prosecuting lawyer set to his case. The State's Attorney's office said one will be assigned Thursday afternoon.
McGuire's bail has been set at $1 million, which means he must post at least $100,000 to be released from the McLean County jail. According to the McLean County Circuit Court, McGuire has not posted bail and is still in holding.
The McLean County records state that dating back to 2003, McGuire has faced several felony charges.
In September, he was shot during a burglary attempt at a Bloomington home. Police said a resident armed with a .22 caliber rifle shot him twice in the left knee and once in the right knee. He posted $1,500 bail on Oct. 29 to be released from jail on residential burglary charges.
